How do i get 32bit color back on my Vaio?

Used to always run in 32bit and ever since using it with my Tosh lcd it's started rnning in 16bit and won't let you make it higher..! there must be a way, any takers?

Could try updating the drivers but as it used to work okay, I dont see why this could have been changed... give it a shot anyway?

Probably need to disable the external display on it - typically laptop GPUs don't have sufficient processing power to run two screens at 32-bit at decent resolutions.

Could be, how would i disable it?

It is not normally connected, just when i want to watcha film etc.
