How do I get this off?

Took badges off the boot earlier, much gentle rubbing, claying and polishing later and I'm left with this...

Rubbing fingers across these marks they can't be felt at all so it's not an obvious sticky residue or dirt build up that can be cleaned off the surface :S

Recommendations as to what I should do here? Or if anyone going to FCS has a bootfull of detailing goo that would shift this and could help me out that would be great.

I had the same on an MGZR and sadly it had got underneath the laquer. The only way I could have resolved it was to get the panel painted.

If I was you, i'd try wet sanding, some harsh compound, some less harsh compound and some Super resin polish, in that order.

If that fails, its paint time.

How does it get into the lacquer? Badges put on before the lacquer had properly gone off? So it absorbed some of the adhesive then went rock hard?

Regardless, it's a pain in the a*se. I wanted to put a amall sticker where the big S is. :(

Polish it or clay it mate. Should come off that tbh. Try sticky stuff remover/tardis/turps to get off any sticky stuff, then polish it away.
