How do I go about getting my 172 re-mapped?

  Clio Sport 172 Cup
I've seen people talking about engine re-maps and how it improves both performance AND fuel economy. I need to try and improve the fuel economy as I now need to commute quite a distance to work but I can't face selling my beloved 172!! Who do people reccomend For this? What sort of prices are we talking?

Wrong. I got one of those RS tuner things and uploaded one myself. I actually got it to smooth the idling as it was a bit rough, sorted that and smoothed out the torque too. For the sake of around £60 you cant go wrong imo

Just get hold of an RSTuner off here, will cost about a £100 and the unlock code is about £30. You'll feel a but of a difference but nothing staggering, will give you a bit more low-mid range torque which is nice. It'll also smooth out the cold start idle also.

Don't listen to the person above, he's fitted an actual bucket into his engine bay so he has not a clue! Lol

P.S. Not gaz but the raider man I'm talking about.

i wouldnt bother unless u first got some of the new catcams 438's fitted then mapped.

As said, you can get the RS Tuner, often pop up second hand on here, then get an unlock code and you do it yourself via Laptop.

Or various companies offer a generic map that they can install for you, such as 519Automotive above, Ktec, MWMotorsports, Stone Automotive etc.
As well as some offering live maps, but obviously these are way more expensive as tailored specifically to your car.

Check out the various traders sections on here.
