how do i remove bump strips

how do i remove bump strips so i can take them to the body shop for spraying?

oh and especially the front and rear bumper inserts? it a facelift model

Not sure about the newer shape ones, but i find drving out the odd pot hole tends to rattle them free. Tho not a very effective method as i found out.

The doors are quite easy to do, if you open either door you will see a small plastic gromet ( just below catch ) take this out and shine in with a torch and you will see a plastic bit protruding through the metal of the door skin. Pop this back in with a small screw driver and while holding it in push the strip towards the rear of the car, they can be a bit stiff but will come.

Backs are more difficult as the retaining lug is sticking through the rear quarter panel but renault do a tool for removing that means you dont need to dismantle half the car, back ones slide towards the front of the car ( reverse of front mouldings ). This makes sense to me but is probably complete tosh to you.

they do but youve got to take bumper off and then it becomes apparent, which model as i only know with mk 2 172 ( other model bumpers must be similar ). Once bumper is off you can take strip off with a fairly large knife or screwdriver just to open up slots where retaining tabs locate.
