How do you lot rate H&R coilovers?

  Mk2 Golf GTI
I'm thinking of getting some for my mk2 Golf but might just buy some FK Konigsports instead as there is £250 difference!

I realise you usually get what you pay for with suspension but i've heard good things about the FKs (they use Koni adjustable shocks)

Back on topic, those that have had or have H&R coilovers now, how do you rate them? Are they dampening adjustable? If not how is the ride on them for everyday use?

Cheers

The guy i'm buying them off swears by them!

You been in a car fitted with these? How's the ride quality? I'll be lowered at least 60mm

I've got H&R's on mine and i love them. they dont have adjustable damping but they are so well set up that i most likely wouldnt mess with it anyway

Cheers, seems i'm sold.

To be honest, i've managed without adjustable damping for the last 3 years so it's not like i'm going to miss having it. Probalby wouldn't use it anyway!

Anyone know of any decent priced suppliers? I've been quoted £740 for my car, not sure ow good this is.

Cheers

What do you think about Bilstein PSS B14 vs H&R coilovers? I have heard they are the same product.....

possibly, when i had a faulty h&r damper (seal split) looking for the part no's i peeled the h&R sticker off the unit and they were badged up as bilsteins underneath.....

Yup, the H&R kit is H&R springs with Bilstein dampers and the bilstein kit uses H&R springs :)

Different spring and damper rates for the two kits though IIRC, and more than likely not the same spec either. So although H&R make the springs for bilstien and bilstien make the dampers for H&R they arent the same kit/spec/ride per application. Im pretty sure the billy kit is a firmer ride than the H&R one.

I've not driven them both but from conversations i've had with various people i think the bilstiens are a little firmer so probably better for track than road although still useable and the H&Rs are probably bette for fast road but could be a little stiffer for track work.
