How do you remove mirror covers?

One of the covers on my 182 mirrors has some nasty marks and scrapes on it so I thought i would remove it and get it resprayed, but I cannot find out how to remove the cover.
Does anyone have a guide?

Fold mirror towards window and get a little screw driver in where it pivots, big gap and pull, then pull the rest gently

Very gently!!!! Or you'll break the retaining clips and you'll struggle to get it to sit back on correctyl!

They fit fine without most clips so don't worry if a couple break

or pop the glass out and open the clips from the inside like your suposed to. none of this pikey screwdriver lark

I got it off by folding the mirror in and using my fingers to pry the cover off, then checked it would fit back on and all was well.
