.. get the plastic handbrake surround off? Im trying to undo the pretensioner and the handbrake thing is in the way.

It just unclips. pull the front part up, under the handbrake, and then slide it off.

That's the plastic bit actually on the handle. if you mean the plastic bit that meets the floor, there are 2 torx bolts at the back of it.
