how does this engine mount look?

when the wheels spin in the damp i get a thumping noise which is no doubt a mount, but which one....

also happens when changin down gears fast.

Thats known as axle tramp. Its the up and down deflection of the front wheels when you spin them up too fast in the wet. It makes a banging sound.

The banging when changing down is probably due to the dogbone mount which is at the rear of the engine underneath the car.

ahhh yes makes sense, so that "normal" then...good as it doesnt happen often at all.

any idea of the dogbone mount prices etc and also can they fit fitted by me...being fairly competant with things like this.

Not sure of dogbone mount prices if im honest. Might just be a case of having to undo the front offside mount and shifting the engine forwards (or is it backwards?) as that can sometimes cure it.
Do some searching on here...its a well known problem.

My cup is suffering from a knocking during cornering and im going to be replacing both the engine and gearbox mounts in the new year along with both lower ball joints.
They do seem to suffer from dodgy mounts.

At my case it was also the engine mount (big square). put pic of it.

mines knocking to which is not normal ive look every where other than the mount under the battery so that must be it.
