How far???

  MK1 Clio 16v
I think you should be alright to drop it a fair way providing you take the plastic arch liners out. Only thing you need to look out for is the bolt that holds the rear bumper on, on the drivers side rear arch, thats what my 17" alloys used to catch on.

I'm on 15's now and they are MUCH better for performance, the car is lower, and there's no scraping at all.

If its a Williams you are doing this too, don't, leave the girl alone, she was designed for 15s and they look the best on the car, never mind the power loss.

When I had my old valver suspension on the front springs had snapped and it had all generally sagged with old age, meaning it was basically lowered.

Having now refreshed everything with a williams conversion using a lot of new parts and good secondhand parts, I can confidently say that it handles a LOT better as standard than it did 'lowered', even taking into consideration the fact it was a bit fooked.

It's so much more adjustable and fluid in the corners!

Don't be dictated to by 'fashion', leave it standard for a decent drive

My thinking also, a car is for driving, i don't understand why people do this, sacrifice car ability + general drive, just for looks.

its not on my williams, i wouldnt touch it, but its going on friday, ive sold it.... getting a valver as i need to spare cash and im lookin at droppin that...

my valver dropped 60mm when it had 16's, no rubbing at all, but got the wheels with the car, put my 15's on and it's just so much better handling and performance.

ok thanks, y is the handling better.. for example, if the wheels are an inch bigger but the tyres are an equal amount lower profile ie the 15s with thick tyres are the same size as the 16s with lo pros?
