How Grippy are Exalo’s 2

PLease let me know i havnt made a mistake buying them....

As soon as i drove out the garage with em on in the rain, i locked my wheels up and skided down the road...i now have done about 10 miles in them and am sure they nore where near as gud as the Contis,,

things are happining are

1. My steering seems lighter

2. getting wheel spin and snaking( more like sliding) when accelerating.

Are these things to be expected with new tyres until they bed in. How long does it take to bed them in? ps reply

10miles wouldnt even have barely scrubbed them, espcecially in the wet.

Wait til you get a few more miles on them before worrying.

Get your preasures down to about 29 front and 28 rear. The garage have prob whacked them up to around 35/36psi - which is about what reno reccomend

mine are really grippy,

you would expect to lock up in the rain with brand new tyres if you braked hard because the shiny stuff on the tyre has not worn off give them a few more miles and i am sure you will be pleased.

Tyres had 800 miles on them before fitting them to my car, have 182 wheels on mine.

Felt a lot better than the contis did also noticed a lot less road noise.

Run mine at 32 psi front and rear, steering did feel diffrent from memory was a while ago now that I done this.

New tyres always make the car feel different.

Mine took a bit of scrubbing in, and now theyre very good.

Brand new tyres grip worse than old tyres with illegal tread on them, so bed-em in, and check the pressures and youll be ok.

In the summer, they go sticky, and stick like sh*t to a blanket.

yeah the exaltos are ment to be good in the wet and very good in the dry. have not had to meny problems with mine in the wet. in the dry i cant fault them.

All new tyres are like this.

I remember fitting a new set of fronts to my Montego and for a fortnight it felt like I had power steering and could turn the wheel with one hand!

Youre not supposed to admit to owning a Montego!!! ;)

  Shhh

I had 2 new tyres on the front on friday, and i can rag the 182 in first & 2nd gear in the wet and it wont consider wheel spinning till 5,000rpm.

They are very good tyres for grip, and i like them...

Agree with this 100%. Dropping pressures to these levels improves grip no end. I find renault recomended pressures to high.

i find it drifts to much if i drop anything below. 32 front and 30 rear. make ride a little less harsh but when i have left them low for a while and then put them back up feels like i have just had new suspesion fitted lol

I felt exactly the same when I had them fitted to my cup but fear not it will take about 300 miles from my own experience to properly scrub them in

not sure about the 172, but the 182 pressures are 33/30 front/rear
yeah and renault had mine inflated to 40 front and rear when I picked up my car...

I have just bought a set of Eagle F1s GSD3s which should be here tomorrow.

I expect them to be scrubbed in after about 150-200 miles
