how intrusive is the abs.

  Clio Dynamique 1.4 16V
hey i was wondering how people find there abs? i am picking up my clio at the weekend. i drive a saxo for 2 years with no abs and loved how i could control the brakes right on the limit of grip. then when that got smashed up by a bloody white van man i got a 55reg corsa and the abs was so annoying the slight harsh brake at a roundabout or anything it would just keep goin when i knew i had a load more grip.
so really just wanted to get your opinions on the abs?
and does it have its own fuse??? lol

i dont mind it to be honest - dont find it that intrusive.. but then again my 1.2 isn't fast :)

Mine's cut in once when an old bat pulled out infront of me. I had loads of grip left and it scared the crap out of me as i thought i wasn't going to stop once it came on.

Hated it on my 106Gti but don't mind it on the 172. Still prefer the non-ABS of the Williams though...

i dont have it now but prefer it without. i have a 306 run around and that has ABS, MY GOD IT SO ANNOYING i myhonest opinion i would make an attempt to stop it, i did that with my 106gti when i had it and it was much better.

ABS on normal roads in wet or dry conditions is great.. only kicks in if/when you need it.

In snow its a joke.. but then you shouldn't really be using the brakes in the snow. ;)

Youl feel the pedal vibrate like a b**ch, horrible feeling.

I find the abs in the 182 is spot on. Have to really try to get it to kick in. TC is also pretty good but it only corrects understeer so pretty pointless in the dry little different in the wet

ABS is excellent in 182, never really kicks in if you are driving properly. TC / ESP is excellent. Doesnt only correct understeer, it gets the car pointing in the right direction as per your steering wheel.

Helped me when there was some oil and water on a roundabout once before. Only doing like 20mph and all of a sudden Im correcting a slide out of no where. That combined with the ESP made it no hassle or heart in mouth at all.
