how long before lacquer?

just painted my door badges in a Renault metallic silver. how long should i leave it before lacquering? also do i just spray that lacquer strait onto the badge or is there any prep work after the paint?

should b ok to laquer straight over as long as the base color is dry!!!
if uve got a tack rag handy u can use that but as its diy?? i take it u dont , just go for it as long as theres no bits of crap on it

as said, aslong as its completely dry (touch it ) you can laquer it. no prep work is needed.

if you leave it for more than 24 hours , the laquer will just flake off!! so as soon as possible

tack cloths are about £3 from halfords so when the paint is dry tack it quickly and spray a coat, it should be fine.

Roughs up the paint a little so the laquer sticks better? Don't quote me on that though, it's just a guess

A tac cloth removes any dust , dirt etc so its perfectly clean before you apply paint or lacquer . It doesn't rough up the paintwork It does what it says on the tin . Its a cloth and its tacky .

its like bandage guage (sp), like a netty square all folded up with a sticky residue on it, attracts dust, crap and also gets rid of static on plastic bumpers

i wouldnt say it was anal, like going out of your way to do something unnessecary, as every bodyshop you go to in the UK will use tak rags.

you can even get GREEN anti-static tack rags . we even used to have a anti static blowing off gun ! that had to be locked away in a case , and it did actually work (when we used it that is )

yep we got the green ones to in work lol, heard of them gun things but never used 1, remember talkin about them though cant remember wat got said though lol
