How long do you spend PCing ther car ?

  Shed.
With a DA macine like the G220 ?

I must have spent about 4 hours on it and managed to do the bonnet, front quater and part of the door, the spoiler and the wing mirror.

  1.2 Dynamique billabong
when my brother did his saxo for the first time he spent a good 20 + hours on it, spanning over 3 days as the paint had lots of swirls in it

  16v Dynamique
I've just finished machining mine with the rotary. Spread over a week doing a few hours a day so i don't get too fed up!

It can take as long as you want really, obviously takes longer if you refine with a finshing polish aswell.

  bmw m3
i like to do my own cars via makita over a weeks holiday, clients/customers cars i genarally specify twio possibly three days imo its not a process to rush

thats about 7 hours so far. Half the roof, full bonnet, front quater, driver side door and part of the rear quater is done now.

  Mito Sportiva 135
You can do it in one day if its not too bad but that is literally starting before the birds wake up and soldiering through all day.

I did a Mitsubishi Evo last year on a summer's day and was the toughest job I have had to get done mainly due to conditions - as was sat under a tree which was spitting sap, only realised after I had done the first polish grade and had to wipe it all down...looked mint in the end though!

  A well built VW
Can be done in 5 hours depending on the condition I have spent 6 hours so far on my own car but thats including some serious wet sanding etc and im not even half way through

I spent 14 hours on my truck when i bought it.

When i went to bed and shut my eyes all I could see was black paintwork and the machine polisher....

I have spent about 10-12 hours so far on my GTi with loads left to do still. Trying to get it 100% defect free though.

same, ive been using 83 and then 80 on everything so far with good results, but once im done ill be going back over it with 80 again, only perhaps this time on a finishing pad.

Monday i plan to do a 9-8 on it. Im HOPING ill be able to have it swirl free, srp's, sealed and waxed by the end of the day.

Just hit 20k as well :dapprove:

Not got a clue how much longer I have left, still got lots of niggly bits to do, side skirts, rear bumper etc. Finding the time to do it is the issue.

#80 pissed me off as I found it has been filling some stuff rather than removing them, went back to Final Finish after I.P today. Ended up redoing about 3 hours work I thought I had done.

As long as it takes...No set time.

Golf took 18hrs...

Vee will take 3days before FCS. And then a couple of days waxin etc.

One of our trusty portercables died on the last job :(

Died of old age, think it was one of the earliest UK imports.

Mine was one of the first in the country too, does not sound the same as it used to but I believe they are serviceable , a mate gets Porter Cable parts for his machines that he uses in the building trade from the states.

Spent another hour on the car again this morning, just on the rear bumper lol!
