How long does a ITG foam filter last?

Got one a year ago for on my RS2.....cleaned it for the 3rd time yesterday (every 6 months)
It seems to be desintegrating.....

How long are these supposed to last?

What are you cleaning it with? Mines been fine after about 7 years, although I haven't cleaned it for a couple. They advertise they don't need cleaning which I think is BS, but every 6 months might be a bit excessive.

Just been using the ITG kit, as per the instructions

We have been using itg filters on are project car for a while the current filter has been on the car for 3 years and isn't showing much wear apart from where it rubs. How odd your is falling apart my first question would be what are you cleaning it with but you have already answered that.

Clean it with petrol. Tis what we do I motocross. Then get an airline and blast it from the inside out.

^They don't make much difference IMO just maybe sound a little louder. I only bought one as it saves my buying a paper one every year.

The itg is supposed to be the better filter. But standard vs itg vs cost difference, mmm.
Money not an issue, by the itg.

Not about more power....the original fikter the RS2 came with always seemed a bit thin to me, hence the ITG......oh and with the built in bell they do sound nice [emoji41]
