how long for engine to bed in?



  172 cup
at what millage do the 172 engines free up?
i had to wait aprox 60k when i fitted a new engine in my old golf for it to become as good as the one i replaced.

Mine spiked after it's 12k service, and again at 27k...

I'm starting a new works contract on Monday so the 36k service wont be far off ffs :(

its really weird how these engines are, i test drove 2 very low millage 172s and they seemed very quick but the prices on them were crazy, a mate got one traded in at the renault dealership where he works, gave me a ring to have a look, 50k on the clock and the thing was mental compared to the other two, was like its got a diff engine, it is a cup and not a normal 172 but i dnt know how much diff there is, i should be picking the car up this afternoon from the dealership yay.

Mine's just over 60k and it felt really nice yesterday, better than usual for some reason. Wouldn't say I've felt much of a change in the 10k I've owned it though, although the ported inlet has obviously helped things recently.
