how long should my engine last

  MK3 GTI golf 16v
its done 130 thousand miles, was just wondering what sort of mileage this things gonna start falling appart on me ? any ideas, its a 2003 clio

As long as keep up with servicing and don't drive like a knob then there is plenty of life still in it.

Oil, Oil Filter, Spark Plugs, HT Leads, Coil Pack, Air Filter, Timing belt done?

After that it could just be wear and tear items like the clutch depending on how it has been driven in its lifetime.

My 1.2 16v is on 102,000 and still feels brand new

keep it looked after and it'll keep going. I imagine things like the radiator would be fairly tired so sensible to change it and keep the engine healthy

Twice the length from the middle to the end...

Twice half it's length would have done but yeah :)

Some will fail on the bottom end, some will do ring landings, some will throw a rod.

Mileage can vary so much but generally the F4R is pretty reliable.
