How long will the battery last with a Sub/Amp installed?

Assuming the ignition is just on. Ive always been paranoid with it so I always have the enigne on - my amp is 650w and the sub is 1000w (not RMS)

on quite about 10 mins, less then 5 wit it turned up then it keeps turning off and on lol

On my C4 with 1200w RMS combined between amps when washing the car with it cranked somewhat so I can hear it outside the car goes into economy mode (after 30 minutes) so longer than 30 minutes is all I can say as my car wont physically let me drain the battery.

I've got a JBL 75.2 (290w Bridged) and 75.4 (100w per channel) amp and i've had it playing (not loud mind) for half an hour with no sign of it not wanting to start after. As long as you don't go mad on the volume and your batteries half decent i'd have thought it would be too bad.

My battery is the same, had it playing jus sat at a cruise for about 20 minutes but doesn't seem to cut out, what would you say is the lifetime expectancy of a battery? (Mines a 2003 so the battery is about 3 and a half years old)

Get a second battery on a split charge if your'e that paranoid about the dodgy French electrics - I was so look what I got done

I dunno really, mine cuts out the bass for some reason.. Ill be driving along then all of a sudden the sub stops dead and only the speakers work.

Audio "specialists" said that it was because my standard battery is shyte and cant pump out enough energy to keep up with the sub and amp, and other "specialists" say that my head unit is faulty and i need to send it off to the manufacturer or my wires are too restrictive.. wtf!? .. I still dunno why it cuts out after like an hour or 2..

Also whats even more weird is that it lasts longer in cold weather then hotter weather...

Mine was doing exactly the same, at random intervals & conditions (engine on/off and car being cold/hot)

Turned out that my amp was going into protection mode as there was a fault somewhere.
Local audio dealer (Audio Advice) where it was bought replaced the amp under warranty and it was fine

Check is your amp doing the same thing, might not do any harm to get your head unit checked out anyway, keep it all running smoothly.

You guys are getting me paranoid, I leave mine running at medium volume ( only for me to hear not people outside ) for about 50 mins then i turn it off. Some of you said 5 mins wtf? lol I am pretty sure my amp n sub are good too i spent 1200 on them dont know the watts yet ill check later

lol no - I dont have Fusion!! it's a Fly active 12" sub I got for like 220 quid. Bought it ages ago thinking it was my head unit being gay. I'll just invest in a new sub + amp after I got my wheels.

If it cuts out less when its cooler than when it's warm, it'll be almost definately because the amp is overheating and cutting out because it's too hot.

Ive got 6800Watts in my car running off two new batteries and it only lasts about 20mins at top level!!
