How many 172 Cups were made?

Just out of interest how many 172 Cups were made?

I've tried searching, but not luck if it's been covered before.

when i broke my gearbox at X-Mas, i checked one of these salvage network websites and was told they had access to 42 Cups!
that's about 2% of the production numbers!

does anyone know how many are 'left'?
