How many "mounts" are there?

  182
Evening all,

at some point during this year i plan on changing the mounts but I'm unsure how many there actually are and what would be normal to replace.

What is it that people generally re new?

I would only want to replace with standard parts....

Engine mount?
gearbox mount?
Dogbone mount?

Any other mounts/bushes?

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
ARB mounts
Strut top mounts
Steering rack mounts

Thats about all that springs to mind mount wise, although if you want it to drive nice you also want shocks in good order, decent track rods, track rod ends, ball joints etc

Thanks chip,

difference between track rods and track rod ends? Do you mean mounts/bushes replacing or are these actual whole units?

Also a little confused by ARB, anti roll bar? If so then like above are you suggesting replacing a mount/bush on the ARB or would this again be a whole unit?

I know what ball joints are as they have been replaced previously at individual times.

car is on coilover's so wouldn't look at shocks or top mounts just yet.

ARB just the bushes
Steering just the rack bushes (and rack itself if it has play in it)
Steering rods (The bit going into the rach)
Steering rod ends (the bit that goes into the steering arm on the hub and attached to the rod on the rack)

Thank you

  Many.
Theres also a fourth engine mount on the front of the gearbox that goes onto the subframe, but that does so little, I doubt I'd ever change that.

Depends how far you want to go with it all I suppose, as you could end up changing all the balljoints, wishbones (or at least bushes) all over the car. It'd drive like new, but it'd cost a lot.
