hmm i'm tempted just got myself 2 new imac 2.8's at work and they came with tiger. so got to contact apple to get a upgrade

Is it really that much better? anyone tried connecting to a linux o.s. using osx 10.5? thats my only concern as my print server is a linux machine and i need to be able to drop files onto it from my mac.

There is an App on my Macbook called photobooth and it does the same plus more. I assume the Gunn has a macbook or macbook pro. The laptops have built in cameras

newstyle keyboards are a little slidy on the desk thats my only gripe about them to be honest.

am running leopord now, its pretty funky, i dont have an intel mac so cant make full use of it, and i dont have a build in camera either.

New style keyboard seems fine on my desk, grips pretty well, i guess it just depends on the surface!

Just read they are dropping 10.5 update CDs in the machines sold now. you may get lucky - worth a phone call.

Just been reading up on some of the compatability problems with some of the Adobe CS suite so won't be upgrading at work just yet.

Does this mean you cant get the update now. I bought a mac after 1st of october so should be able to get it shouldnt i? it still says on the apple site to get your order in before Dec 4th or something?

Bit reluctant to update atm though after all the negative feedback ive read, be worth getting it then installing it when all the bugs have been fixed though isnt it?

£70 but we get a discount through work direct from Apple, so not much but it all helps!

Does anyone find their mac takes slightly longer to boot up, but once running, runs alot smoother and slightly quicker?

Nope mine took longer to boot with tiger.

It now takes more time to shutdown.

Startup seems slower on mine - though it maybe because it no longer has a screen showing a bar and the progress of it, goes straight from the grey screen to desktop now.

woo hoo got it and installed it all had a slight problem with the installation as it wouldnt log me in. found out i had to select options then archive and install.problem solved.

love the new menus and the fact that it automatically connects to other computers on the network.

not really noticed any major speed increase over tiger.
