How much for Insurance?

I am looking to buy a 172 next year probably a ph1. I am just wondering if anybody knows how much it would cost for an 18 year old with no ncb but has been driving for a year without a crash. I would also have my mum and dad as the main named drivers. Anybody help me out?

So are your mam and dad buying a 172? Cos if you are buying a 172 for yourself and fronting this is fraud.
Sorry to be a arse about it but, ever since i was able to drive i have had my own policy and done insurance correctly so fronting annoys me.

On the other hand insurance companies are not stupid so will still charge u a fortune +1800quid TPFT i would guess.

But on a serious note, a 172 @ 18 is going to be close to £2k TPFT and probably over £3k on a FC policy, in your name of course.

certainly around the 2K mark, I have a friend that's 19 and has a 172 ph2 cup and he's paying just over 2K

na im not meaning fonting i am meaning having mother and father on the policy as named drivers dont worry and would it be around 2000 you reckon?

Expect to use KY Jelly. At 19 it becomes much more reasonable. Wouldnt recommend fronting, I did it for a year then realised that i didnt want to be dependant on my dad to insure my car for years to come, wanted my own policy so i can build up my own ncb etc. Better to wait untill you can afford insurance legally. I'd probly be in a better position to get a 182 next year if i'd have got my own policy at 17.

When someone else (usually parents) are the policy holder and the "fronter" is the named driver

so insurance is cheap- pointless in a way though cos you carnt hide behind mummy and daddy forever
