I've bought and sold lots of cars without MOT, never seems to make a huge amount of difference either way price wise tbh... but I am a risk taker! :p

  Clio Sport 182
Thanks for your replies. To pass the MOT it needs the brakes and ball joint. I just can't afford it at the mo so it has to go. Hardly ever drive it to as I walk to work so gonna get a smaller engine, tax etc etc.. Sad times as it's been a great car. Thanks again

What's my 172 worth? It's a 53 plate Monaco 172, in all likelihood needs a new engine. Had an oil supply problem, it was opened up to investigate a knackered tappet and was found to have a hell of a lot of scoring on the cam shafts and head etc. Existing engine had done 114k miles. Bodywork is in very good condition, just the usual stone chipping to the front bumper etc. Interior is excellent, seats are good, rears immaculate, non-melted steering wheel. Its got an MOT until July 15, Conti sports all round, 2 new front tyres and a pair of rear shocks just before MOT. In the last 12-18 months its had new discs/pads all round. Its one of the later one's with cruise control, CD changer etc.

Looking to move it on as I don't have the knowledge/facilities to change an engine and I could do without a garage bill for such work. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers!

clio 172 cup couple of small knocks but nothing major front bumper has a split but has never bothered me (would need a new one really) rear bumper has a few scratches, tax till end of december mot until 8th may 2015... gearbox has covered about 1k miles since a full refurb by agency (whines in 5th a bit when under 60ish no idea why?) tyres have covered about 1.5-2k miles but the fronts have worn quick due to the camber and tracking completely out but that's all sorted now. New rear shocks plus alternator and belt all from Renault brembo pads + discs were bought around the same time just recently had a full service using genuine Renault parts. The belts are due, millage is 99k partial service history 4-5 stamps from renault how much is this worth? i was thinking 1300 is a fair price?

Due to change of job situation might be looking to sell my 172 PH1 with approx 118k miles on it currently, I bought it from thomasa on here in march this year and have had a blast in it, the car has the following mods:
ITG replacement element
Ktech recessed exhaust - cat back
Spax adjustable damping front
Koni yellow sports adjustable damping rear
Eibach sportline springs
Whiteline RARB
Eibach camber bolts set to -1.6 degrees on the front
Front strut brace
The belts have been done about 18 months ago when the engine had a feel rebuild with receipts to prove this.

In my ownership I have had the arches professionally sealed and sprayed as they were starting to rust a wee bit with receipt to prove and a new battery. Also had a full service with oil plugs etc at Rentec in Edinburgh in August. The car went through the MOT last week so has MOT until OCT next year with the only thing it might need in the next 6 months is 2 front tyres as the Parada's on it could do with replacing. Also the front bumper has a crack on it and could do with replacing (have a replacement bumper too but haven't got round to getting it fitted/sprayed yet). Think that's the major points covered just looking to see how much I should be looking to punt this for (although I'd quite happily keep but a shame to have sitting in the drive doing f-all) Cheers

2005 Black Gold Renault Clio Sport 182 FULL Fat

96500 miles at the moment but will increase slightly.
Cambelt in 2011
Would come with a fresh service
In addition to an aftermarket exhaust manifold the car also benefits from a full custom stainless steel de-cat exhaust from Longlife, surprisingly quiet with a subtle sporty note. The majority of my miles are motorway and the noise isn't intrusive.
I have the catalytic converter which is easy to fit for MOT. The car was also remapped at longlife after exhaust was fitted.
I have the receipt for this.(£799.00)
Powerflow lower engine mount
Brand new Cooksport springs and refreshed Cup dampers enhance the car's responsive and agile character without making the ride crash or too firm. The ride height is slightly lower than standard but still very practical.
Yellow tint fogs, I can remove the tint if needed.
It has HEKO window guards fitted.
A quality aftermarket stereo with usb/iPod and aux connections freshens up the interior and a subwoofer has been fitted and wired properly from battery to boot. The original stereo will be supplied with the car.
The headlights have been changed to ones with black inside so looks better and because the old ones were fading. Have changed the standard sidelights to LED and recently put in two brand new osram headlight bulbs which look brilliant. Automatic headlights work. With this being the FULL FAT and with both cup pack from factory. Cruise control and speed limiter with a traction control switch and electronics work as they should although the hazard light switch can be a bit tempramental.
The interior is non smoking and in fantastic condition with very minimal wear to drivers seat the standard silver strips across the dash have been carbon wrapped which is a subtle touch in my opinion.

The exterior is very clean and tidy and shines up brilliantly with minimal stonechips showing on front on bonnet. The gold flake in the paint is very subtle and looks stunning in the sun.

Exterior changes include a slightly deeper Skoda Fabia front splitter and the rear end has been freshened up with Renault F1 team decal and RS Renaultsport badge from Clio 200.

In 2013 the standard 182 wheels were refurbished and powder coated at a cost of £427.20. They are a slightly darker Antrecite to standard which I think suits it very well.

What's a 182 gearbox worth, all in perfect working order with no known faults or issues?

Cheers.

  Clio 182
Will be seeking my clio at mid/end of November and was just trying to gauge what the car is worth. Will be looking for a quick sale and have a friend who is interested (mechanic who can do all required work). Details below:

05 BG 182 non-cup with 97k on the clock. Dephaser and belts done by specialist at 78k, water pump and ps pump done around 85k also by specialist, and it's currently due a service. All standard apart from miltek decat, tax until end of dec, and mot until April (need to double check)

Bodywork- usual dinks to be expected for age, but front bumper will need a respray as it had a crack which has been repaired but not painted,

Mechanics (here's the problems)- ps leak from one of the pipes/hoses under battery, just topping it up as I go atm, presume this will need a new part. Front passenger shock absorber needs replaced. Brakes have recently been replaced all round, and tyres all have decent tread.

I'll be looking for a quick sale once my flat is finished so know that this and the outstanding problems will mean I'll take a hit on the price- but just wondering what sort of hit I'll should expect.

Phase 1 172 in black, clean body but a couple of scuffs on rear bumper. Timing belt had snapped and this boy has sorted it with either a replacement engine, or done the work.

Ktec exhaust, 5 standard F1s, wind deflectors. Everything else is standard I think.

I'm thinking about buying it but how much...

Im wondering on what price i would get if i was to sell my Trophy Sachs Shocks.
The total cost of all the refurbishment is costing me £860 and these shocks are £1800 RRP each from renault.

Currently at BG Motorsport getting the following done -
1, Full Refurbishment with full powder coating.
2, New red anodised caps
3, New Sachs / Renault OE Stickers
4, New secondary dust seal / Scraper (Same as Twingo R1 dampers)
5, No BG stickers logos on or over the shock absorbers
6, No yellow paint markings over screws or seals on the outside.
7, Standard Renault setting (DO NOT DE-PIN Or ADJUST)
8, Full invoice with dyno graph.
9, Awaiting a large amount of parts from Sachs Germany (Other bits have failed)

I with agree with Chi, I'd personally pay the refurb costs for these not much more. That's h&r coilover money.

IMO the sachs set up is better than any coilover kit.
Looks like i will be keeping these then as there won't be another set like it (mixture of Twingo R1 & Clio Parts)
Just a shame I'm now having to wait till early December before BG get the parts

Debatable.

No doubting they're a great shock, but not £800+ good enough.

The only good thing about your refurb from others is the Twingo R1 dust covers/scrapers, really not a lot to write home about given they won't be used for rallying. Having them all pretty powdercoated with new stickers means nothing towards adding value, just throwing your money away.

Oh, and not having them adjustable is another negative point.

I'd say refurb Sachs that have been powder coated would appeal to a very select market of trophy owners who attempt to retain as much of a new OE condition as possible. Never driven on H&R coilovers on a cup or trophy but have driven KW v1 in ph2 and they handled superb on fast smooth road but once on potted roads were woeful. I'd imagine the H&Rs are better suited and damped for the road and track with the added height adjustability. I feel Sachs are very nice on fast road and win on potted city roads in comparison to the kw v1.

Hi guys,

I'm going to be putting my 200 up for sale in a couple of weeks and will be replacing it with a V6.

I'm not sure what that value of my 200 is though?

Here is the spec as follows:

Glacier white
Factory leather Recaros (I will miss these)
crying.gif

Sat Nav
Cup Chassis
Gloss black Speedlines
Electric folding mirrors
Keyless entry
Corner lights (can't remember the official name)
Factory fitted day time running lights (never seen another 200 with them)
Gloss Black roof and mirrors
There is probably bits I've missed, but you get the idea

Its had full Renault service history and has just been serviced including discs and pads all round.

I bought the car from Renault and it had 3000 miles on (I think I am the only owner according to the V5)

The car is MINT and needs for nothing.

WHATS IT WORTH???

Thanks
