someone told me it was so expensive cos my car was under 3 yrs old, anyone know if that makes a difference??

Age of car generally dosnt make any difference, only if its a classic, but in that case insurance is normally cheaper. You will find that some insurance companies load your premium in different ways. They point score you in the same way finance companies do, to assess the risk. Hence quotes differ. Also it can often depends if you use a broker or buy direct from an insurance company. Some brokers will use there profit margine to get the buisiness, whilst others will try it on after 1 year of your buisiness because they know you might not bother to shop around after year 1. AlLWAYS GET AS MANY QUOTES IN WRITTING AS YOU CAN!!! (in writting so you can read the small print before you sign your life away for the year).

Not that i know alot about car insurance ;) lol!!

If you didnt buy the car new, couldnt you plead ignorance and say that the wheels were on the car when you bought it, so you would assume they are standard for that particular model!
