Full system? Probably a little longer. Just the pump, and swapping the alternator though, 2-3 hours as said

Had an aircon delete done by the now defunct JMS about 4 months ago. Price for Cambelt and Aircon delete below.
Cambelt & Aircon Delete Kit - £600.00
Dephaser Pulley - £174.00
Total - £774.00 Inc VAT.

Was all pipework to the climate panel removed (metal ones that go through the bulkhead), and condenser, rad etc?

iv been quoted roughly 170 by one garage, the other garage couldnt quote as never done it before, asked if i would want all the pipework removed or would be happy with them just cutting some of the less accessable pipework which i said would be fine as long as all the heavy stuff was removed, ie pump, rad etc.

It's all very accessible!

wondering whether to get my cambelt changed at the same time as it was done just over 4 years ago and could kill birds with one stone?

I didn't think JMS were VAT registered?

I really don't see the point unless you have a dedicated track car. One with all the sound-deadening removed. Tar all gone. No interior. One seat.

It frees up loads of power, that's why. Remember the guy who thought his Clio was broken and then he realised his gf had left the AC on?

the air con didnt work anyway, i live in scotland, i dont need it, i want to make the car lighter and free up a little bit of power. got the cup set up cheap from a car getting broken £60 for everything including the alternator so thats why im getting rid.

Started removing mine yesterday, bracket for radiators had rusted together. Cue hole in coolant rad and water everywhere :(

The thing was perished to f**k! Debating whether to remove the pump or keep it the same setup ready for an ac replacement ;)

Should be straightforward to remove it. Degas and then uncouple it at the joint near the bulkhead above the brake fluid reservoir (undo 1 10mm bolt). Remove 2 10mm bolts from pump. Remove front bumper. Unclip and unbolt other 10mm bolts and it's out. If anything though mine feels more powerful with the A/C on! Not that I use it for real very often. I am thinking about removing mine as I currently have the engine out. Is it really worth it?

its not just that, its the weight loss and the savings for future cam belt changes.

Yep all the pipework etc came out. Two main reasons I had it done were cheaper belt changes in future and it wasn't working anyway. Plenty of threads on here about rotating mass, load on the belt, extra bhp etc but those weren't the main concerns for me as I'm not worried about shaving a couple of seconds off my commute to work!!
