Reinstating air con

My 182 had its air con / climate control removed by its previous owner.
I’ve been told that the compressor etc are still all there and it just needs the rad and pipe work connecting back up (which I’ll need to source).
Is it as straightforward as that?
Never worked on air con before so any advice would be appreciated 😊

Get a seal kit and a new condenser, replace condenser(AC radiator) and all seals while refitting the 2 pieces of pipework that come from the bulkhead to compressor/condenser and have a garage leak test and regas if ok.

I would have a look at the compressor and the evaporator, if the previous owner just removed the pipes there might be all kinds of dirt in it and you might want to replace them as well.

Also get some pag46 oil to lubricate the seals and to add to the system.

Check torque values of the bolts below, don't over tighten, I had one snap at correct torque and was a nightmare to get out.

If you need to swap evaporator, be careful to not snap the bottom clip that holds the blower into place, it's a fiddly job.

I've done this on two cars now and the one I still have is still blowing cold after almost two years, well worth it 👍
