Due to a possible change in circumstances I may have to get rid of my 02 172 FF.

So I thought I would get a rough idea on what it was worth in exchange for a X-Trail at 7.5k.

Well as usual the salesman was his usual self.
1. Its an import so its not worth much
2. Its a clio sport nobody wants them
3. Insurance group to high etc etc

I just sat there not really saying much until he offered me a value of 3.5K

This for a car thats only done 26,000miles in great nick with full renault service history.

He was surprised when I left laughing.

Clio will now be staying.

Think I will keep it and try and sort out a different solution.

He just kept saying how nobody wanted them and then pointed to Kia import that he couldnt sell. I pointed out that it was hardly the same.

Bottom book 4.5k top book 5.5k retail sale 6.7k the guy was taking the p***:nono:

Lol - if you'd gone for it, he would have slapped a £5k sticker on it and probably sold it within the week.

Good effort for his attempt though - for all he knew, you may have been happy with that offer!
