how to add BH!!! decatting exhausts?

hi am new to this site as i have just recently purchased a clio sport 172 i love this car it is really fast i have been told decatting the exhaust will give it a more throttlier sound and can add an extra 10bhp could any1 give some ideas please on this. many thanks tom:approve:

De cat will add a bit more power, nowhere near 10bhp though!

Depends.. What exhaust are you planning on de-catting?

just a stainless steel 2.5" cobra sport. i am really happy with the speed and sound as it is but just fancy doing some things to add more bhp you got any good tips mate? whats your thoughts on re-maps?

The 172/82 is a very hard car to get BHP gains out of, unless you have deep pockets

I'd start with matched inlets, remap, de-cat.

ahh right nice one mate ill look into it. i think i will definately re-map when i get the moneylol. was just wondering about the de-cat. i here them itg panel filters are good on the 172/182 you know much about them?

air filters don't add any horse power at all, the only advantage is you can clean them, and re-use.

im not to bothered about the bhp more for the sound but i was looking at them bmc induction kits my mate had one on his clio sport sounded mint, but i heard alot of good things about these itg filters. what do you have on yours dave?

im not bothered about adding the bhp on the induction kit i would be happy with just a nice filter give it a nice sound. for more bhp i would like i say re-map or put a nice exhaust system on it.

If you want sound you'll need an induction kit as the performance filters don't really add much...

righto mate ill have a look at them now i know my mate had a bmc on his 172 sounded nice!! i got an itg filter on now like it sounds nice like!
