no camber is the angle the wheels sit in the arches

k, just started doin them had some probz wiv the car.. the spring in the front feels very loose is this ok ?? + how do u lower the back ? is it the same as the front? chhers for the help :D

  Clio MK2 (1.2)
When iv unscre the things so that it becomes more low the spring comes loose, like i can lift it up about a couple ov MM and can wiggle about, i cant take pics now as its gettin dark and the wheel is back on. is it normal for coilovers to do that. it looks good now bu i want to take it a bit more lower then the back down to..

  clio (sleeper)
i think the front is pretty normal mate.when me and my dad changed the height on his tein coilovers they were like that.when u take it off the jack it will compress the shock and the spring will be tight.you do know your rear springs arent in place dont you?

  Clio MK2 (1.2)
ahh rite so front are ok, What u mean back 1's arnt in place :S Ow s**t ye just noticed :S. il get the Mechanic over in the morning, so thats was the bang den ..

  clio (sleeper)
the rears arent sitting on the mounting points!theyll just fall out!.take the bottom nut off the shock...put the spring in place then drop the car slightly and fit the nut back in the shock and repeat for the other side.and yes the front will be loose untill you put the car back down on its wheel!

were abouts? in the top (in boot) or the little Knob on the Shock its shelf? soz for beeing kinda think, but this is the firs time if ever had coils n dont realy kno what im doing, but front 1's il check 2moz if theve tighten up as i cant put my finger under the arch no more, so under car job itl be.

  clio (sleeper)
well the easiest bolt to undo is that silver one right at the bottom of the strut...you know if your looking at the car from the rear...its the bolt that goes sideways through the strut!take that out...then the spring should fit in easier!then lower the car really slowly untill the bolt that you just took out fits back in.then do the same the other side.if you lower the front and put it on full lock you should be able to put your hand aroung the wheel and feel if the spring is still loose mate!

  Clio MK2 (1.2)
ahh rite ye i kno what u mean m8, but i want it lowered more in the back(wheel nealy under the arch) how is going to remove the bolt gona do that?

  clio (sleeper)
removing the bolt is only going to help you get the springs back in the correct place before you drive down the road and loose them!lol
the height on the rear must be a preset height because that knob on the strut i belive is for the adjustable damping.
once you get the springs in the correct place and everything bolted back up have a fiddle with the adjustment and see if theres any difference
