How to adjust headlights to optimum level?

Hi guys.

I understand I can manually adjust my headlights (182 xenons) using the Allen key hole on the headlights them selves and also the rear beam has the sensor that determines when they dip etc but how do I know where to put the lights so that they don't blind anyone? For example should I raise them to the top of their travel and do two turns lower if you get me?

At the moment they are asking really close to the ground I can barely see a thing so not sure how much to raise them by!

Thanks. Dan

On a beam setter Dan, MOT station will probably charge you a couple of quid to do it for you,Get them to set it as near the top line as they dare for better view of the road without blinding other people, the potentiometer on the rear axle is the self levelling system for it and is self regulating once the headlights are set up.
