my manfiold has a very small crack init (goes when the cars warm) i want to fix this, but i dont think you can weld cast?
someone said braising? whats braising?
cast can be welded but its tricky, i heard it requires the metal to be heated in a oven and gently cooled again in the oven after welding to stop cracking. brazing is when you use a gas torch and a rod. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazing
if it were me i would get another manifold from a scrappy for less hassle.
Cast iron isn't too hard to weld if you know what your doing! it needs to be stick welded with cast iron rods and most engineers can do it. Wont cost much either.
