How to get through to Blocked Image Hosting websites etc ?

To cut a long story short, i'm offshore at the moment off Angola.

I am trying to upload a few pics to the net using Photobucket.

And i received the following

Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção's Internet user policy restricts the access to this website.

Motivo:


The Websense category "Personal Network Storage and Backup" is filtered.

And it comes up with the same whe i try and connect to imageshack.us etc etc.

I have tried a few proxy sites and got no where (The same page comes up)

It comes up with this.

It doesn't appear to be a country-based block, that's Websense so wherever it is you're using the Net is blocking the sites.

Everything and anything you try will probably be blocked by Websense, so you're stuffed

It's web filtering for Proxy servers. Blocks p**n/webmail/ads/image hosting/anything you like depending on what you want it to block.

Always get people commin in beggin can they just have 1 hour unrestricted.. to which the normally get the standard reply of Fcuk off.

Stick firefox portable on a USB stick and try to run that.... will only work if you can access the internet from the network without going through the proxy.

Just download firefox from net straight to stick ?

And open the file and install it to mem stick ?

But how would i be able to connect to net without a proxy ?

Google for portable firefox or maxthon. They will use the network connection rather than being locked to go through a proxy server....

It worked in our building until we locked it all down again but it might work for you.

heh I've just fired up a worklatop that's got a built in Vodafone card, it won't show images that people upload to imageshack etc as Vodafone block those sites for content by default lol.

Yeah, you basically install the program on one machine create a 'network' ( give it a name and a password) then install on the other machine join it to that network. You will need to allow remote access to the machine.

You won't be able to view videos over it but will be able to see pics OK depending on your connection speed.

No, that connects to the web server using TLS on a different port, it will only work if the webserver is also running a secure service, you'll find that most webservers wont.

if google knows it is a proxy site, then websense will to. The only way to get around it would be to make your own site with content that websense allows, with an unindexed page hosting your own proxy....or find a way around the proxy server on the rig.
