How to make my 1.4 clio 2 faster

I have a 1.4 5 door Clio2,
I would like to ask what modification can make my clio run faster?
e.g. increasing the Power (bhp)

Changing the air filter?
Changing the exhaust?
any thing else??

Thanks

Get a decat pipe. Hillpower induction kit and a chip. Should see a nice gain from those.

Nitrous oxide or NOS as most people call it.

The engine should be fine with a 25 wet system. More power than a decat and airfilter and chip and cheaper.

if yours is a 16v, try a supersprint exhaust manifold together with the supersprint rear box...it really changes the whole character of the car...

  182 cup pack

Change the whole excaust system, install a BMC carbon dynamic airbox, use denso iridium spark plugs, and have it reprogrammed...for a total of 10-12hp.

If you want more power,use cams(i have schrick 244 degrees)have your flywheel lightened,gass flowing,compression at 11/1 for a total of 15-17hp.

An the best mod is to find a 1,6 16v block and change it with yours -another 10-12 hp.

Of course the gains in torgue will also be very good.

Cheers.

but my car is 2002 MK2 1.4L 16v 5 doors

It is difficult to find suitable parts for my car, as most of them available on the net are for 2.0 RS and 1.4 16v (old version)

Can you please give me any advice for me to get suitable exhaust system and air intake system?? thanks

Exhausts..filters are pretty futile means of adding power. Unless the exhaust system is restricitve youre looking at a few BHP here and there..

Getting an exhaust and filter, ECU, and a rolling road session could cost close to a grand..and for 10bhp..worth it? I think not..

By all means do that..it will look..sound good..and is nice to tell your mates :)

Try thinking about power to weight. You could lose your spare wheel for a start..and buy some lighter wheels and get new tyres sealed for punctures (about £80). Forged lightweight wheels could save up to 40kg + plus 20kg of youre spare..thats 60kg..lots! Besides, new wheels transform a car..

Theres also suspension and brakes..upgraded items allow you to brake later and carry more speed though corners..which will allow you to use every single BHP better. If you bother to weigh aftermarket items you could be saving a few kgs here and there too..

Stripping down the soundproofing..removing rear seats..carpets..anything! Could mean you saving almost 100kg. That is a lot of weight..and will count for more than 10bhp produced in the upper rev range which you will never use in normal driving anyway!!

Engine transplant for mailto:£1.5@~£2k">£1.5~£2k I guess would be a good value drop a GTT engine or 2 liter into the car.

Depends how much you want to spend and how insurance is for you.
