how to mount amp

hi, just been installing my ice into my new motor....just wondering whats the best way to mount the amp? in my pug i mounted it on the back of the seat...however the clio doesnt seem to allow me to do this (doesnt grip)?

i have heavy duty velcro on the back of the amp but dont trust this it hold it on to my seat as there is too much slack.

any suggestions welcome

i got a bit of wood covered it in material and mounted it on the side, looks perfect

i've velcro'd mine to top of sub, prob isn't the best place but limited choice in clio, wanted a bit of boot space too. will prob move it somewhere more stable soon (if i can find it! lol)

That's how i wanted to do it but, there's not alot to attach the mdf board to and getting the mdf in side the cover without cutting the cloth.

on my 172 there is a zip going round the outside of the rear seats which allows you to flap open the back panel. Ive had it all off today to work out how to attach the MDF to the seat... im sure if i take my time i can make it work.

The main problem with that is that my amp has the connectors on either end... so will look very messy with the cables showing, and the connectors will get wet if its raining and i open the boot.

build an open side support that comes out level with the height of the amp, that way the cables get fed into the support

give me 5 minutes, i'll do a quick 'paint' diagram of what i mean

alternatively, i won't as my paint skills are dire

but what i mean is an 'L' shaped piece of MDF attached to the mounting plate/board which will cover the connections, make a hole in the side box and run the cables through there, well protected from the elements, and if done properly, will look quite professional

im quite embaraced about this....but wouldnt know were start with building a side mount, measurements etc would just screw me over. any tips/guides?

pretty much derv, though just be covering one side of the amp, it will keep the connectors safe from hazard

what about the false floor method... i mean after a few measurements and a bit of sanding etc surely this leaves you with the most width still, i am thinking of going with that method...

Back of rear seat, you will see it has a zip so you can get a peice of MDF behind the carpet trim.

how big is your amp? under the passenger seat works very well.

i have a jbl 4 channel...so its a decent size...will look into under the seat....can it breath ok under there? lol

YES, with all cable running behind MDF and drill hole ing MDF for cables to come through.
