how to open the key?

The remote central locking button on my keyfob is playing up at the moment and im thinking it needs a new battery and maybe some contacts inside realigning.

However for the life of me i cant get the key open!I dont want to scratch the crap out of it but im giving it some force and cant slide it open.

Any tips?Points to push down on that would help etc?

Remove the key ring. Press on the back and slide it off. Can be a pain to do, just keep at it
