how wud u compare Maxogen vs BMC

cant uderstand why the maxogen is over 300 sheets, its crazy, for the money you see very little gains. rather have a panal filter and zorst for it!
It's because the outer casing around the filter is made of carbon fibre.
I would like to own a maxogen and BMC also to compare them against my Espace V6 airbox too see if your just paying for noise or actually some gains...

I'm more then happy with my maxogen, great bit of kit imo.
the maxogen will mean u can do 100mph in a 30 with out getting caught :quiet:

Not sure Holland, but Henk Fastchip mapped this setup (cams also) at around 200 without the caf at the grill, MIGHT have gaine another HP ? It feels like the best setup, getting tha air direct from the front. By the way , i copied MarkCup's mod

In terms of design and execution the ITB AB series of airboxes (which are used in the Maxogen kits) are the best out there.
Regarding cost, labour intensive low volume complex shape carbon fibre production is extremely expensive. There are no two ways about it. ITG recognise this so for the road market have produced the spun ally range of airboxes which use the same technology as the AB air boxes but manufactured in a much cheaper material that is easier and cheaper to form. The ally boxes are only available in 'straight' form though so packaging one in a 1*2 would involve losing the battery.

does it take air from the front aswell as the side?
Their the same airbox just different intakes. Ph1 has 2 small holes, V6 has 1 large intake hole.
I love my Maxogen too

can some1 confirm if this is true 'no gain from grill intake'

Hi, the bmc will come with the caf. Its 80mm in diameter and approximately 630mm long. If you wish you can purchase additional ducting from larkspeed off ebay. I had my caf routed to where the fog light was. As this was the best place to get any ram air effect. The trumpet and cut grill was from another induction set up i had when i first bought the car. Due to the number of tight bends you will need to make to route the caf to the lower front grill, you wont gain anything. For ease the best place to put it is where your accoustic valve is on your standard airbox. As for price, these regularly fetch anything from £90 to well over £100 second hand on cliosport.net. But i am willing to accept £100 including the postage.

Its me selling this item on ebay. As you know by looking at my previous threads i have had quite a few induction setups in the past. It really isnt worth the hassle of fitting a trumpet and caf to the lower front grill. Had the car rolling roaded and didnt really gain anything. Because of all the tight bends you wont get any forced air flowing to the bmc whilst driving. You will need to make 3-4 very tight bends to run the caf from the bmc to the grill. Best to feed the caf to either the recess behind the passenger headlight or where the accoustic valve would normally go. Reason im selling the bmc was becasue the car didnt respond to it very well. Probably required a custom remap to reep any rewards from it. The sound of it was pretty s**t hot though! So ive gone to a v6 airbox and itg filter set-up. Car is back to its best now. Hope this helps!
