Hybrid Headunit

Reet guys any info would be great even if you tell me its not even possible its just an idea i had when i was bored.

Now the idea, for some time ive had an Alpine headunit in my bedroom since selling my Peugeot 106 which i had a full Alpine system in, which coincidently is in my bedroom as ive never really been bothered about installing it into the Clio. Now i have an Alpine head unit which is pretty decent and woundered weather it was possible to make a Hybrid headunit from the Renault one and the Alpine one.

To further elaborate i want to keep the face of the Renault unit and use the Alpine guts to make the Renault unit 100x better if that makes sense. Really its all about keeping it as OEM as possible.

Obviously people are going to think this is pointless and yes it proberly is and i dont care i just thought it has potential.

i know nothing about electronics etc, but it probably could be done. however would it be worth the time, effort, and cost?

Cost isn't the issue though is it? Possible of not is! Seeing as i own both units and the fact the alpine units proberly 5 years old means its proberly worth sod all.

Not just get a cabasse renault one and some decent speakers mate?

I assume its already got that unit init as its a Dynamique. TBH Alex im bored as f**k with it need something new to do and changing the speakers is pointless unless you have a decent CD player and i dont like the clio dash with after market units in.

Agree with the standard headunit only reason I've not got rid of my alpine one for standard one is ipod connection!

I have a cable in the back of my renault unit for my iPod/iPhone so thats not even an issue lol

Could you use the front of a Renault unit as a face plate but doesn't work, and possibly modify the alpine unit so it fits further back in the slot. And when u want to use the alpine unit, it's just a case of taking the face plate off. If you get what I mean. Saves messing round with loads of electrics.
