Think it basicly means it has mixed and matched parts, normally an engine conversion.

General terms it's a car that's had an engine coversion.

In clio terms it's a 1.8 with a 2.0 Williams engine in it.

as above or often mk1 with a mk 172 engine in is referred to as a hybrid.

In general terms it is a combination of two things. So a Toyota Prius "hybrid" is a combination of petrol and electric power. In Clio terms its putting a later model and usually bigger engine into a usually earlier car that originally had a smaller engine.
