I actually hate Clios at this moment

  RB 182
Well as u may know i crashed my 172 into the curb, and bent the subframe

Now i managed to get one last week for £80 which i didnt think was bad, and after work yesterday, i set about fitting it

Approximately 15 mins into the operation, it all goes wrong!!

The bolts that hold the subframe onto the car, the nuts on these are in the chassis with some absolutely pathetic metal clip things there to stop them spinning as you undo the bolt

Well my Clios done 100k now, so the bolts aint gonna fall out, so suprise suprise as soon as it gets abit tight, the crap clips break and the nut spins, so the bolt isnt coming out!! I tried for ages to get something in, the the one at the back on the N/S you cant get anything in to hold the nut, so im gonna have to cut a hole to hold the nut, and then weld it back up!!!!

Also, the steering rack looks like a right b*****d to get off the subframe!!

So, at half 1 i have to ring my mate to come and pick me up from work 30 miles from where i live!!

Its like losing a leg having no car lol, i cant go anywhere or do anything!!

I hate Clios.... until its fixed

could decide to sell the car and sell me your interior.... lol Hope you get it fixed mate but if not you kno my username and email address ;)

Well i work for Ford, but never come across such a crap design!

The clips are unbeleivably weak!

i had the same problem but it was my wheel bearing that went and i carried on driving it around untill my wheel almost fell of:S but when it was being fixed we only thought it was the wheel bearing but when the wheel and everything was taken of we found more problems i didnt have my car for 2 weeks and i hated it, i like to get up and go and not ask people for lifts its a pain. but it is the same for any car but when it fixed you wont hate it:)

Ford use a threaded chassis instead of nuts and bolts, so you just bolt into the chassis!

Thing is, im thinking in the future in may need a clutch, im gonna have to do the same again!! Mind you, thats then, this is now!!
