Sunbeam is still on. He is an old guy and wants to take his time, so this is to tide me over.

I'm driving a 2.4d Volvo estate atm so its not all rosy!

I'd have loved to, but i wouldn't drive it anywhere as i was worried about scratches/shopping dents etc and to be honest, I get bored once I have done what I want to them.

I want a mint Exclusive next, sucking the floor on some coilovers.

I've got all mine in boxes in the loft! Wish I had the room to set it up again TBH!

The cup got A/C? Rarer than rare if it has.....

Lol, win win then, whats the shortest time you've owned a car? Surely its hardly worth sticking your cds in there and adjusting the seat the rate you go through them!

The shortest ever was 1 hour and 45 minutes. Picked it up, didn't like it, traded it. LOL!

Longest ever was my 1st 172, had the girl 18 months and loved every minute. My 1st track day in it, the first car i 'modified' properly and the 1st car i actually loved.... :(

belongs to mrmahoosive on here now, X404HOU.

Lol, i sold my mums old Polo last year she decided it was time for a change, only had it 17yrs lol!
Was nice your 1st ph1, although the last one you had wasn't bad either.

Man, I wish I could do buying and selling cars like this. I'm such a lazy buyer, I've always clung onto cars even when I've been bored just because I cant be bothered with the hassle of selling them and loosing money.

I'm the kind of guy you probably like veiwing the cars for sale in your lot, mainly because if it's there and it's a decent price I'll buy it. The decent cars I've passed up over the years because they are more than an hours drive away....

What can't?

Because you will no doubt make money on it

I don't tend to make money on my 'personal' cars as i normally get them to the standard i want. The last one cost me a LOT of money. Respray, suspension, tyres, MOT, servicing, engine mounts etc etc. 9/10 i'm lucky to get my money back!!

Its a hobby really. I really enjoy getting a car in need of a little TLC and spending 8 or 12 weeks sorting it out and seeing it drive off all nice and mint.

My god, i'm sad.....

I don't really understand what you are getting at...

''A nice hobby funded by joe public who buys your cars''

I don't get shirty with people that work for BT because the company is making money out of me. You seem very bitter about people making money out of cars. Thats the 3rd or 4th time you've said something like that to me personally.

If you do have some sort of problem with what i do for a living, then why not just come out and say it??

In fairness to Daniel I don't think anybody is up for losing money on a vehicle if it can be avoided.
As much as I love my cars im far too tight and I try to avoid getting emotionally attached to cars as I don't like losing money. I ve never ever lost any money on a car, I tend to buy wisely run them for a year and flog them on. When i bought my Clio I wasn't really after a Clio I just saw it advertised I could tell they were desperate to sell it so I stuck a low offer in. Sure enough they rang back a few days later, I wasn't really after the Gti, I'd always liked them, I was just in the right time and place to make this one depreciation proof.
I ve tarted up a few cars and sold them on the side but theres only profit in them due to buying them wisely in the first place. Equally I prepare sell and advertise mates cars for them on a commission basis and I also source cars for friends and family, its not against the law.

If you keep it for more than a year and dont try to sell it as a minter then i will write an appology to you in full on here

Ok, lets sum this up as you seem to be struggling with English.

My last 172, I paid £1750 for and it needed...

repaint (all bar the roof) £1000
Tyres £120
COMPLETE brand new suspension £250 fitted
MOT £30
Power steering pump £200 fitted
2 new wheel bearings £75 fitted
Strut tops and bearings £70
new front bumper £250 fitted and painted
6m tax for the new owner £100

Plus some odds and sods.

Now, i'm no mathmatician, but that lot equates to more than the £3500 I sold it for.

I'd say Dan's honest in his description. If he says it's mint, I'd trust his judgement that it would be mint. So regardless of how long he keeps it, it's his car and he can decide what price to sell it at. You dont like it, dont buy it. Simple.
