I fancy a change in my valver! What do u all recomend?? I want a crisp sound and i nice bit of base. I am thinking of selling what ive got and changing it all! i only want 1 sub in my new system! Not bothered about 6 x 9 as long as ive got a good bit of bas. At the moment i have

2 x jl w3 da v2 subs (600w each)

kenwood 1000w Amp

rockford 6 x 9 in parcel shelf

kenwood front speakers!

Ive got about 350 plus what eva i sell from my old system system. I can get the following brads at trade price so would like to use them if possible!

cerwin vega - soundstream - kicker - apline - jvc - kenwood - panasonic - pioneer - sony - VDO dayton - blaupunkt - clarion

What do u all recon??

what size are the jls ??? as they are good subs, might be worth upgrading the amp for the subs, and getting some new front speakers and amping them.... oh and loosing the 6x9s..... with the right amp them jls should be fine, and give a good kick, more sq rather than spl.

they are 12s mate! The only think is i wanna do a tidy install and 2x12s in a clio is a bit push for space. was thinking maybe a square kicker sub! yer they are pretty good subs! It was about 100db with them when i had it all in my old car tested from in the front of the car! Any ideas on what speakers??

Id go for

sub - Jl / r.e. se 10 or 12/ - only really need 1 - ive seen a car with 1 10" jl hit rediculous db!!

Amp - An old skool rockford - eg a 125.2 for the sub and another say 60.2 for the fronts

fronts - dls ra5s (think thats the modle) or crystal

HU - alpine!!

and NO 6*9!!!

and no amp rated in max power!!

pls no strange shape sub - eg kicker or sony!!

keep one of your 12W3v2 subs sell the rest, get a JL 500/1 to run the subs, a set of decent speakers and an amp to run them.

jl 500/1 would defo be the amp to power 1 of your w3s like col said, but doubt u will get change from 500 quid for that.... JL do there e series amps they do 1 monoblock which supposedly will power the w3, they also do some other e series amps which would be good for the speakers, then the install would look nice and neat, as it would all be JL

pretty much got to agree with rorrie (hes been spending too much time on CAD forums )

old rocky amps are worth investing in

the DLS R5A components are a very competent speaker

as for the sub, Boston, RE, JL, Focal, Diamond, Crystal, Hifonics and the like

any advice required on subs - any budget - just ask

think i might keep one of them and run it high power!

sell the kenwood amp and put the money from that and the other sub towards a rockford or jl amp!

whats wrong with the square kicker sub??

What would u lot recomend for tweeters and does anyone know how good soundstream speakers are for using in the front??

yer and so expensive! them human region one retail at like 2k i can get them a lot cheaper than that but its still expensive. They do look good though. the human region is like a face coming out if the ground. I was thinking of getting a tarantula one! would look wicked but i will have to see how much i can get them for!

yer i heard that but i have got that range on my price list!! i think any one the soundstream amps are good. i used to have to soundstream spl 12" subs. the best i have eva heard!

tom-m - the things that are wrong with the kicker subs - are they are square (less cone area from than a circlular) and they are kicker!!

as far as subs go try a jl w7 10" sounds the b****cks and bangs like sh*t

blows the crap out of mine and ive got 3 jl w3v2 12"

Rorrie correct me if im wrong but if u have a 10" square or 10"circle surly the square has a bigger cone area or am i talking s#!t.

Diamond. What the power rating of your subs coz i think mine are a different version. they cam from america. they are the same as yours but have d2 at the end!

a guy from talk audio got a davinichi 7 channel for £315!

from the USA so will have to pay carriage/tax on top of that, but a bargain!

right do am the moment i am having the follwing. can anyone recomend speakers for the ones i have missed out!!

1. Keeping the kenwood headunit

2.1 x JLw3 sub

3. soundstream amp running sub

4. small soundstream amp running front door speakers

5. 5 1/4" door speakers??

6. Tweeters???

7. 4" Dash speakers ???

8. Rear speakers???

they fit fine mate! I have got kenwwod 4" speakers in the dash at the mo. take out the old tweeters and they went straight in!!!

Mate in the valver there are tweeters that have like a big souround on them with the tweeter in the middle. U just take them out and the 4" just fit in there!
