I can modify at last, so where to start?

Just wanna make the car a little louder, and add a little power.
I was thinking induction kit and exhaust, but I'm no expert.

What combination would be good? I do alot of motorway mileage so will need something quiet while cruising at 70.

start with a cat-back exhaust. magnex has a nice sound not to over the top, but its a bloody big back box lol ive got 1 on mine. then if money isnt an issue itg maxogen or pipercross viper induction kit, but once you start its hard to stop lol (de-cat inlet manifold ecu suspension brakes etc cams throttle boddies superchargers turbo's)££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Got a 172, and think I'm gonna get the viper or exhaust first, plus tints and 182 alloys.
I got a small list,but I'm sure I'll think of another couple before I go to bed.

Right, I have definitely settled on getting the viper. But dont have too much of a clue about exhaust, or even what I can legally can.

What price would i pay for the viper? I have seen a few on ebay for 150 used, with usual ripped pipes etc. So I would need new pipe and want one of the cones to come out the front, not through the fog light.

I would lower it first...?

If not, Magnex is generally seen (heard?) as the quietest off-the-shelf item you can get. If you go custom, you can have it as loud or as quiet as you want.

yeah, magnex are pretty quiet but the quality is questionable sometimes and they never give gains on the standard cat.

If i were you i'd get a custom system with removable decat (for MOT time) and have it made to your spec.
A free flow filter of some sort would be a good bonus too. ITG make a great replacement panel filter if you are wanting something quiet still.

After that, maybe some inlet work and a remap?
