lol i still think they are pointless IMO
Imo all of your posts caining them are pointless.

Indeed...You've made your point...Now sod off!

Like i always say, if you don't instantly like them, you never will...At best you'll learn to appreciate them for what they are.

V6 for show
172 Cup for go!

:clown:

V6 for show and go,

172 for shopping ;)

Simon

Haha! Unless your andy with frequent trips to IKEA in his.

A V6 is all about the whole experience

nail on the head there.

when i was in ali's, it was the fact the engine is turning over at 6000rpm, about 10" from your head, and especially with ali's the fact the exhaust note is so deep and inviting, it all adds to the drama of the car. sure, for the money you can buy faster cars, but nothing that will turn heads (imo) and give you a buzz everytime you drive it.

for the record, 70 - 100+ was breath-takingly quick!

:approve:

To add...

When i bought the vee i paid, doesn't really matter what i paid, but i could of bought another riff of other cars...all faster...But in Abd every dick eitehr had a STi,EVO or Type R...So they were instantly scored off the list. I've had Reno's since i passed my test and i can't fault them.

What could offer me the road presence of the Vee - A car i wanted since i was 17 the noise, and a car that will beat what i had previously owned...
Easy choice imo!

All the haters....hav you even been in one!!?

  Clio 182 & Saxo VTR
The only thing that puts me off a v6 is that after 40k there considered high mileage cars which is unreal in my opinion. Theres far too many of them sat on 15k miles with the owners worrying over the prospect of depreciation for a car that will soon have covered 20k.

Id love a v6 but i think id only ever buy one if i intended on keeping it forever. I wouldnt have to worry about the mileage then.

  RB 200 Cup!
I finally understand the Clio V6. Whenever I see one on here, I think thats a nice looking car, But there are so much better cars out there, And I cannot fathom why people have bought one over similarly priced cars.

They aren't very fast, They Arent built very well, TheyAre a body kitted Clio with a Laguna engine, The interior is no better than the 172/182, They are over priced, They aren't practical and They cost alot to maintain.

However, Just saw what appeared to be a freshly detailed Black Gold Phase 2 V6, Driving around casually. EVERYONE just stopped and stared. This was in an area where I commonly see Murciliagos, 911's, DB9's and R8's. Every body just looked. There could have been an Enzo on the other side of the road and people wouldnt have noticed. It just looked so right. I think most people were looking at it thinking what the hell is it. Not bad for a car thats been out 5ish years!

I then thought about how often I've saw one on the road, Not at a show but driving. I've probably only seen 4 since the phase 1 was released. I then thought about how often I see the cars I'd have bought with V6 money in my hand, And they are daily occurances!

I finally understand it.

actually enjoyed reading that - fair comments i must say

I love the vee! I think it will be a proper classic too. Renault certainly wont build anything like it for years to come. I've sat in a LY ph2 in a dealers, but never been out in one. I only assume it will be as an amazing experience as it looks. I think its already been summed up well as the experience being a drama.

The rarity factor just ads to the experience. I've seen 4 and considering I do nearly 30k miles a year it makes my week when I do see on. I'm sad enough to rememer the location of each time. Infact I might set up a geek spotting club. I'm member number 1. Staring with the most recent:

Black MK2 - Tunbridge Wells, Pembury Rd.
Flame MK1 - M5 just off the M4/M5 interchange
LY MK2 - Dealers in Tonbridge
Silver MK1 - Sainsbury's carpark, York.

Love the vee!

Above 30k is considered high!

front wheel drive is for gays! :rasp:

the v6 was made to be driven no left in the garage, dont worry about mileage, get on and enjoy the car.

i use mine as a daily drive and its no more expensive than the bmw i had previously.

i have never been in a vee :dapprove:

bt i appreciate them so much for what they are

ppl that dnt get them well thats ur opinion, but to be honest you could have an evo, sti, skyline or whatever but as the posts say, they wont turn heads as much as a vee

theres 2 vees near me, a ph1 and a ph2 and every1 time i see them go past i near s**t with excitiment, because like ali said ive only ever owned reno and cant fault them and have loved the vees and the ph quicks since i was 17!!

cnt wait to get a vee someday!!!

so for the haters, take ur hate elsewhere

i first saw one when I was about 17 at a local car show - iliad Blue (bit common i know). open the door proceeded to sit in it, play with the steering wheel etc etc then some guy open the door and told me it was his car and not on the Renault stand - whoops! However, from that moment on I always wanted to own one - more than say a Ferrari or Lambo (honestly). Like someone said earlier Renault will never make another car like the V6 - bit like concord. You can imagine the scenario at Renault HQ. Some mad guy walks in and says, 'hey I've got a great idea. Lets put a whopping great 3 litre engine the back of one of our Clios and sell it' Can;t believe it ever got the go ahead. But there you go...

Such a special car. I get a massive grin on my face everytime I drive it and no other car has ever done that for me. Not the fastest but pound per pound it's worth it's weight in gold for being 'special and Unique'!

First time i went in a vee i was disappointed, but think i was missing the point..

Second time round, i got it.. Can see why folk like them aswell..

and like ali said, there are hunners of evo's/dc5/scooby's up here.. so you need to get something a bit different

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
The only thing that would worry me was the laguna engine and how many miles it can handle

  audi a6 3.0tdi
seeing a vee on the roads turns me into a little kid i just stop and stare lol. i wouldn't say no to owning one

Love em. Seen a nice clean 04 plate in Chester today. It has to be a phase 2 for me though

I think too many peeps forget to give credit to the guys that gave the go ahead at Reno to build such a mad car for us to enjoy whether you own one or not. Its forgotten how nuts this car was when it 1st arrived... and still is. Hats off to the guys behind the build of it! :) Makes you proud to have such a Reno amungst the other more ordinary models....it is the best car they ever made imo... deserves the credit ;) another 20 years time and they will still be turning heads.

:)

  1.8 Civic EX
just had a quick gander at this thread..seems a bit odd...there are people that absolutly love them and would do anything to own one and others think they are pointless..

I just think they are alright...owning one would be nice but I'm really not fussed by them...I see a few on the roads round here, it's just an "oh look a v6" no over excitement, hardly any people turning to look at it...it's an alright car but in my eyes nothing special...

what I really HATE about them tho...the rear arch looks so suck on..if only it was smoothed into the C pillar rather than having the horrid little lip, spoils it big time for me...

Well now that you understand one of the v6s most annoying qualities (the attention it gets) now you can go out and drive one. :)

  Der Panzer
I still don't get it it.

Nice noise, but that's about all I can say. Sure people look, but I'm not a posing b*****d so I don't like that.

^
So anyway, back to the questions I asked a while ago ?? Please enlighten me :)

how are they pointless? Imo all your posts goin on about how great they are, are poinless

Lol, if people ask for an opinion on them i'm obviously going to say what I think (both good & bad) If you read through my posts you'll see that:rolleyes:
If I thought it was a pointless car i'd sell up.
Never once have I started going on about them unless it's within a topic (which I didn't start)

How many times have you been in or driven one ?? What do you base you 'pointless' opinion on ?? The fact that you'd rather have a 4k ph quick & some dosh in the bank ?? Hmm, i'll stick with what i've got & some dosh thanks.

Best thing is don't try to understand it, just enjoy it.

It might not be as well built as a German car,
it might nit be as reliable as a Jap car,
it might not handle like british sports car,
it might not be as fast as an italian Supercar
but....
some Zany French bloke decided one day that it would be a great idea to stick a 3 litre engine in the back of family hatchback and strap a outrageous bodykit to it.

So what, it has its flaws, but I think they made a pretty good attempt and for that, I love it.

amen to that brother.

  Black Gold with cup packs
If it asn't for impractcallity I would have a V6 in place of my 197 cup. Fact. I was very close to purchasing a black gold phase 2 last october before Iordered the Cup. The misses would have played f**k with me though.
For some odd reason she hated the V6.
I have banged on about it since need for speed most wanted and have wanted one ever since.

good summary that! thing about the 6 is special..

Ali - I did indeed! wasnt expecting that ha ha!

I actually agree with what people say about the experience! I can't stand people that just look at buying a car for one reason and that being 0-60!! "Yeah well mine does 0-60 in like 0.8 seconds faster!! yeaaaa m8!!" Grrrr

I have yet to experience what the v6 is like though so hopefully someone could show me :)

People do stare at V6's when you drive them though, I had someone in a Ferrari slow down and have a good look when I drove one the other day! You'd think it would be me looking at them, not the other way round!

Aside from going to FCS (and the ones I test drove) - I've never seen another Vee in the real world heh. I always love in these threads how many people have "driven my mates" - there were only 600 sold in the country (Mk1 and Mk2 combined), loads have been stacked - yet everyones mate has one but isn't on ClioSport or V6Clio.net - awesome.
