Hello Clio-sport!
As per the title, I know absolutely jack-all about Clios apart from one crucial detail that brings me here; they seem pretty nippy and fun on a track!
I'm intending to lurk for a bit, read up, and at some point before summer buy a track prepared clio 172/182. Probably jointly with a mate once he gets done getting married and honeymooning. I had considered a TT (needs a lot of weight reduction, and mods to alleviate understeer), an MX5 (would need a turbo'd one otherwise too slow) and E36 328 (still a possibility).
I've been loyal to VAG since my first car, and this is the first time I've considered any French car, but the Clio seems hard to beat in terms of smiles/£ on track. I've been to a couple of track days now in my car (a B7 RS4), but I'd prefer to have a cheap track only car.

- VW Polo 1.4CL (moving up in the world)
- VW Golf GTi Mk4 1.8T (coilovers, TT brakes, smoothed bodywork, R32 front bumper, milltek, remap, genesis amps/JL sub)
- Audi S4 B6 4.2 V8 (milltek exhaust, 19" speedline wheels)
- Audi A4 2.0T S-Line Quattro (Remap to ~285HP. Tints. Err I think that was it. Sounded like a hairdryer. Back to V8...)
- Audi RS4 B7 4.2 V8. Current Car. (MRC stage 2 remap 427HP, deflapped manifold, modified OE exhaust, carbon induction kit, coilovers, full interior retrim in alcantara/leather, TT RS steering wheel, Pioneer Carplay HU/JL amp/JL 10" Sub/Focal components, LEDs and xenon mods, 19" Zito wheels)
- VW Golf GTi DSG Mk5. Second car/wifey-mobile. (Bluefin map, VWR springs, 18" Audi speedlines, tints, Pioneer carplay HU. Lots of options; leather wingback recaros, xenons, sunroof, parking sensors etc)
