I need some help!

  2000 clio 1.4 sport
Hi, I've bought a written off clio and am in the process of getting it back on the road, at the moment i'm getting parts. Its a 1.4 sport, 2000 model. The airbox sits on top of the engine and theres an outlet towards the front of it where it looks like some sort of hose about 2 inches diameter should be attached. Anyone know what it is i'm missing? Any help would be much appreciated thanks

Please? Having done some more research i think its the cold air feed? So where can i get one from and is it just a hose? Lol as you've probably guessed i'm no mechanic :p

If it's what im thinking then it'll be similar to my engine, and the pipe will be made of a cardboard type material, which goes from the airbox and other end resides behind the passenger side headlight.

It basicallt draws in air from a different position as apposed to hot air from atop the engine.

In my opinion you should leave it off, cause it makes a half decent induction noise. I used my pipe to feed cold air from the left of the radiator, don't know whether it actually works, but it passed the time lol.

You need a cold air feed or the aixbox will just suck in hot air from the engine bay. Forget about getting a nice induction noise, you want performance, if you can call it that on a 1.4, either way you need all the ponies you can get, so get a cold air feed pipe and get it hooked up

To be honest, there is no difference to be felt whether the pipe is on or off, so as for performance....

It's just a case of do you want a better noise, or not?
