But I was looking at another 172cup the other day and checked it's rear disks and they looked the same as mine!

Replaced mine just over a year ago and they now look the same as yours.

I think its caused by the pads not touching the top half of the disc causing them to corrode.

more money....i think your misses wont be best pleased......:rasp:

Her way of looking at it (coming from a female who has no interest in cars whatsoever) why spend money on the car when I can get a new outfit, or new shoes, or a handbag! Gets on my bell

They do fook all anyway. My GTi ones looked like that, changed them though just for looks!

Just got off the phone to GDI, they said it was normal. If I changed them and the car saw alot of wet, then they are likley to end up like this again within 6 months anyway!

lol i cant say im in the same situation, but when i told my other half i was getting a clio, she said they were horrible little cars that boy racers and chavs drive and why would i wanna waste money on a car that was old.

i should be getting a shiny silver on in the next 3-4 weeks........:D

nice to know she supports my decisions lol!

they look fine to me. as you know, the pads don't sweep all of the disc and you end up with a corroded lip as the rust builds outwards and the swept area is slowly worn inwards. so long as the swept area is still well above minimum thickness (not sure what that thickness is), they're fine. look ok to me anyway.
