The thing was, it made a real thud when it cut out. Proper scared me.

And to add to my self loathing, the only neighbour I hate and who hates me was stood outside when I coasted round the corner. I didn't want him to witness me looking at my broken car so I simply got out, locked it and walked away! lol.

You didn't drive it with the buggered "just a cambelt cover" did ya??

Because your symptons were the same as mine... i.e driving along, hit basically nothing, serious bang/clunk, engine nearly died but saved it just, my last bolt was all that kept it going I think.

No I replaced the ''cambelt cover'' today.

If you read the wanted section, you will see that I need a new fuel rail guard as I accidently binned mine today when I cleared up. In that bundle of junk metal was a two piece engine mount! I just told whiteley, it looked factory, the crack was perfectly formed!!

(I am justifying my own stupidity now....)

LOL!

Unlucky though mate. Just as you get things done, something else rears it's head. Fact of life.

Or just ''don't touch whats not broke''.

I tell everyone that as soon as you start messing with Renaults, they start to break. Shame I don't heed my own advice.

Good result having one lying around, lol @ "looked factory" I'm assuming the fuel rail guard looked like a piece of scrap? ;)

Car just sounds like its needs a really good run, never fails to amaze me how much just really driving a car can improve it.

Glad it lives though :)

Can you pm me Daves home address and his wifes name please mate ? Need to send a card. Sorry i couldnt make it on sat, she was ill. Anyway back on topic.

Good news on the car!!

Kind of a shame though, you could have got a few handjobs.

Hahaha like your style ;)
