I want a V6...

Ive been thinking of swappin my mk1 172 for a mk2 V6, anyways have found the V6 but cant find the insurance...

only been driving 22 months, so I guess thats a problem plus Im a taxi driver and insurers seem to really hate that too, Im with directline and they wont even quote me...

There must be someone who wants too insure me, but where?!

Some insurers insist that you are either 25 or 30 to drive and insure the V6. You would be better getting your dad or mum to insure it then after a few weeks - add you as a named driver!!

Yep thats what I did for my Daughter as she is just 17 and having driving lessons. Worked out a good bit cheaper.

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..

ya but with elephant dont u have to pay the money in one hit? they told me they dont do installments.

blimey seany, you must be 450 years old, i pay 515 fully comp for my new 172 with direct line, im 32 with 7yrs ncb and live in a decent postcode as far as insurance is concerned,

HAVE WE FOUND THE FIRST SENIOR CITIZEN DRIVING A V6, RESULT!!!!!!!!!!

Buy a 182 with its twin exhaust. Strip the rear interior and make a huge engine cover to put in back. Then get a few inch wide spacers for wheels.

No one will be the wiser. Get a lad conversion but dont tell them its a 182. They will do a v6 lad conversion(on your 2.0) which makes it 300bhp

You have be 21 to insure a car on group 17+.

Directline are the only people who will offer a quote which is reasonable

Liverpool Victoria wont even quote you on on a 1.8 16v until you are 21, and thats only group 12!:(

Yeah Liverpool Victoria are only good if you have a modded car..but you have to be the right age for the insurance group of it. Im with them and pay a grand more than directline just so i can do mods..but then ive made 2k worth of mods so its not all bad.

Dash

An insurance guy I know said this is the best way to insure a young person for a fast car, but wait a few weeks before adding their name. Dont put the young person down to drive at the time of taking out the insurance. Not sure why......

Be carefull what you say !!!!!!!

I am a senior citizen and own a V6.

Pay £925 fully comp, husband and wife, full buisness use , protected plus legal aid.

insurance is worked out based on risk. if you add a younger driver on most insurers will load the premium to a similar price as a youngster on their own (as the risk is substantially higher). Having said that getting a good quote is 50% luck, and 50% your attitude, by that I mean its the way you come across on the phone, theres always a way to get a cheap quote, just remain polite and professional and make sure they know you want to do business and theyll be more willing to help you out!

Im 31,9 years full no claims.

No points on my licence,it has a tracker, cat 1 alarm,is in a garage over night,i live in a very low car crime postcode,i have acces to other vehicles,i only do 5000 miles a year in it (weekend toy)i did the 10 month accelerator with elephant.......so thats how i got it cheap!

By the way you do have to pay outright with elephant.

Amen
