IAT & Turbo.

  1.4 Maxim (Breaking!)
Hey I have one of those 20+ BHP Chips and was just wondering where i can find the IAT Sensor on a 1996 MK1 Clio, if anyone could possibly show me a picture i would be very happy.

Also i have a 1.2 Standard Petrol engine as far as i am aware, I have the exhaust & the k&n kit, but was just wondering would it be possible to add a Turbo Charger to my car so that it will faster? Fitting Easy? Is Turbo Charger right thing im looking for?

Thanks, Ash

to fit a turbo to a 1.2 is more hassle than its worth, if u want to make a 1.2 any faster buy a different car! lol PS them 20BHP chips really dont do ur engine any good!

  FIAT PANDA 100HP!!!!
yep, i agree with the above comment. i put one on mine, it ran like s**t, used more fuel than ever, and sounded like it was going to blow up.
not worth it trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Valver
Yeah defo stay away from those cheap ebay chips they don't work and bugger your engine. Its very difficult and expensive to get much more power from a 1.2 engine, you would be better off buying a 1.8 16v (valver) or getting a whole new engine in there!

Thanks for saving my life lol, the last thing i would need is a buggered engine :)

Well being like 20 I don't think it would be a good idea putting in a 1.8 16v because wouldnt that up my insurance?

I dont know alot about cars to be honest especially when it comes down to engines, so what is a 16v? is it espensive?

Any mod you make to your car just about will increase insurance unless you tell them and if you dont tell them and your in an accident insurance can be void. Hence a turbo'd 1. would be more expensive to do than a 1.8 16v conversion or buying the car ot begin with.

And depending on your no claims the insurance might not be that bad.

Tuning 1.2s can be expensive but depends what you want done really. Im finding my engine quite easy to tune

I don't know exactly what part i have to tune but im just looking to keep that power going after the first 5 seconds of pulling away (more torque?) . I don't know how much something like that would cost but what have you done to your 1.2?

Im getting a bit more BHP with my K&N & Scorpion exhaust, i just want to be able to show people that it has alot more to offer than what you can see.

Just taken this picture of under my bonnet (needs a real clean i know)

Now you can see i have a K&N, but i have seen cars with K&N's but have these big tubes that come straight round and lead out into the bumper?

Dont know if the pic would help suggest any enhancements? Chips,Kits?

The tubes you on about are cold air feeds. I have a different engine to yours (mine is a diet) and I only have exhuast mods and panel filter with an air feed and im about 10bhp up from standard. Somebody on here got their 1.2 energy engine to about 89bhp but spent loads doing it (talking thousands) and its poss to get them into the 90's with a manifold. The cheapest way to get more power is to just get a faster car or maybe drop a 1.4 energy engine in (they all look the same anyway)
