Ibiza 2012

  Italian 3.2 V6
Hello all, just got back from a short break in Ibiza. Was more of a chillax holiday than a rave one as we were their for a wedding.

Took quite a few pictures and thought I'd share some of them with you guys as I'm really happy how some of the pictures turned out. Really really need to upgrade from the 1000D and get a few nice lenses to match. All these pictures have been taken using a Cannon 1000D with a Cannon 50mm 1.8ft lens.

All CC welcome, but please bare in mind I wasn't able to take my tripod or anymore lens's with me :( so did best I could with what I had. Would love some tips on how to improve my pictures as I'm really getting into this photo malarky!

Cheers, Piers.

Cheers mate. The wedding was in "Es Cana" at the "Jacaranda Lounge" on the beach - was so lovely, highly recommend it tbh! I have a load of pics but unfortunately am unable to upload them yet - I have been asked not too until the couple get back from there honeymoon.

Love the last shot, whilst a fifty is great for portraits on aps-c it's a little too long for general shots as you have cropped the edges of things like boats and the tops of tents. Do you have the kit lens? Often great for travel.

Thanks cotball & Brazo.

Brazo, do you me the standard 18-55 lense? If so yes i do. I totally agree as I find it's hard at times to get the "whole picture" if that makes sense but love shooting with it. Could you advise me on a lens upgrade which would suit the above kinda shots? I'm also looking at upgrading the camera.. 450d? I don't know..

Really nice stuff, Piers.
I like the pink lights reflected in the swimming pool and also the people shots.
I agree with what you've said about the 18-55 lens as well, you can't always get everything you want in the shot!

well the canon 17-55 is a very sharp lens and f2.8 throughout. If thats too expensive the tamron 17-50 f2.8 will offer 95% of its performance for half its price.

Lovely shots dude, particularly like that ones of the swinning pool at night.

You've made up my mind, I need to use my 50mm more. Annoyingly, it MF only, so might sell that and buy the 35mm AF-C...hmm.

Some nice shots there.

I'd upgrade the glass before the body. If you were upgrading the body though, i'd go to the xxd rather than a xxxd, as it'll be a more beneficial upgrade IMHO. I've been using my 450d now for almost 2 years and love it. Only now am I using it to it's potential, so although the 1000d is "entry level" (as is/was my 450d) they can still produce some belting shots when used to their potential.

Thank you Luke & Martin.

So lens before camera eh? I agree with what you say about making a "worthwhile" upgrade Martin. I just want my pictures alot more "crisp". I assumed upgrading the camera body would help the most :S

Always glass before body mate....I replaced the kit lens with a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 and it's SUCH an improvement in image quality.

Thank you Phil :)

I must admit, I love the 50mm 1.8 which I bought! Need to save up for a good lens first then by the sounds of things. Then a 60d lol!

It's an insanely good lens for the money. I eventually upgraded to the 50mm f1.4 but to be honest for the extra £300... I'm not entirely sure it's worth it lol

Eventually I am able to show the actual wedding pics that I took. So id like to share them with you guys for some feedback, first time shooting people :)

C&C welcome :)

No real C/C's, just to say they look really nice. Top effort and some nice candid's where you've captured the moment very nicely, without interrupting the scene in anyway.

Beautiful shots mate both women gorgeous as is their little un.

Your pics seem to be really sharp for a nifty fifty! Mine almost always come out soft, think I might have a bad egg...

  A blue one.
I saw the first photo and knew where that was.

We were there from the 30th to the 14th of July, stayed at the escanyer apartments which is part of charlies/marvent.
