ICE Install Help

  R26
I've had the car for just over two weeks and I thought I'd be able to live without my subs - how wrong was I??!!

The problem I've got is that I want to keep access to the spare wheel. Has anyone made a false floor or build that has 2x12" subs in a double box and an amp that I can do this with? Any pics would be helpful! I've thought of mounting the amp on the side of the boot but not sure how to attach it.....

Also, the luggage net hooks - can I remove the bar they sit on so I can keep my subs flush to the back seat?

Cheers in advance!

Hi mate, do a wee search for Muz and you can see how he put in his 2 subs.

And yeah you can remove that bar no problem, mines been out for years!

if you remove the bar you can use the 2 holes in the body to bolt down your sub box.

www.hifimobile.fr did a clever install on a golf 5 where there the bolted everything to the back seat and had a hinge so when you put the back seats down the whole install flipped over and you can access the spare wheel etc.

I like the idea of having it hinged to the back of my seats! Cheers for the help, you've given me a couple of ideas!

Will keep you posted.....

This what i ended up doing in my 172.

It's a pretty rubbish pic but you can see what i've got. Basicaly a box which fits the boot shape with a hinged top to allow access to amp and spare wheel. Also i could still load the boot up if i wanted to.

I can take some better pics if you want a closer look ?

If you could get some better pics that would be cool!

The only thing is that I want the subs facing forward, not up.......

hey, mine comes out in 2 mins but means carrying a screwdriver in the car!

I have my amps hinged for easy access but I made my own, the back seats aint that strong.

Look in the piccies and media section you will see loads of photos of it.

if you have good FG ability you can make sub boxes either side of the car and leave the floor almost empty.
